The Electoral Commission was established as a result of an initiative by the boards of directors and the executive committee of Cocomaine, aimed at fostering a fair electoral process for the Congolese community. Following the formation of an ad hoc commission, the need for an independent body became evident, leading to the creation of the Electoral Commission.
